Paving / Gravel

Paving slabsPaving is one of the main items used in the construction of a garden, whether it be for a patio, path, stand alone circle or stepping stones.

Slabs or flags are used on the floor to create a paved hardstand area, either accessable from the home directly or as a separate area in another part of the garden as a feature.

There are many types of slab available, the most popular being Indian Sandstone, Slate or Yorkstone.

Indian slabs do , in fact, come all the way from India. They are cheaper than Yorkstone mainly because labour costs are cheaper in India, although these have been rising over the last few years, but also because there is an abundance of supply in India. Indian stone is not an inferior stone.

Finished patioThe Indian stone we supply is all quality controlled and ethically sourced. We buy from one supplier and not on the open market which has its advantages. The stone yard has a government certificate stating that they comply with all current regulations and the quality of all our paving is controlled during production.

This way we are able to specify the same sizes across all of our range of Indian paving varieties, there are 14 varieties in our range, these are Raj Green, Autumn brown, Kandla Grey, Fossil Mint, Raveena, Rippon, Ochre Yellow, Modak, Black sand, Kota Black, Kota Blue, Tumbled Raj, Tumbled Limestone and Polished Gem. Please see our pattern information for size details.

Our slate paving is, at the moment limited to Peacock, although people consider our Kota black to be slate but it is, in fact, a Limestone.

Paved patioYorkstone has always been a favourite and is, of course, from Yorkshire. The colours range from buff to browns and to grey.

We stock Riven and sawn paving as well as Crazy paving and have this in New Yorkstone and the, now hard to find Reclaimed Yorkstone.

Our Yorkstone can be either random sizes, fixed width or fixed width and length.

We can produce Yorkstone to your requirements if not in stock.
