Monoliths are standing stones above about 500mm, they can be slender, large blocks or tapered, in fact any large upright stone can be classed as a monolith. Here they are drilled to form a water feature or fountain and can also be fitter with a bulb to light up the water. Most people consider monoliths to be Slate, Green, Grey, Blue or Plum, but they can be Sandstone, Limestone, Granite or Marble. Some of our Marble ones have a sawn, polished face and look superb when wet or dry. Sighting a Monolith is important in that it will create a feature and so alter your view of your garden. Most gardens need a focal point and a Monolith can be very effective in achieving just that.
